This study aimed to determine the improvement of students involvement actively in learning science subject after using a contextual approach in the fourth grade at SDN 11 Sandai Ketapang. Research method used is descriptive method in Classroom Action Research (PTK), which is collaborative. The technique used is direct observation using a data collection tool in the form of observation sheets about the involvement of students actively in learning. This research is done in three cycles. In the first cycle, the average score of the students involvement reached 53.2, the second cycle an average score of 66.8 , and the third cycle the average score of the students involvement is 81.1. Average scores between the first cycle is 53.2 to 81.1 for the third cycle there is a difference an increase of 27.9. These results mean that the contextual approach can increase students involvement actively in learning Science Subject in fourth grade SDN Sandai Ketapang.
